Copping. Maybe my tweets and FB status hasn't been enough in persuading you to support this album, but please do! Go cop! I sure am, and I seldom buy albums.
I'm almost done with my list... nice. After that, I don't see myself buying anything else outside of replacing what I already have now.
White lowtops. (1/2 was paid for by Krista's Foot Locker gift card. Thanks!)
Navy lowtops. (Bought by two of my best friends for life. @Ant0224 and @samspaced . Thanks, fellas!)
Black lowtops. (The Vans are pretty much done for... breaking in the Converse Sea Star Ox.)
High top sneakers. (These are the most basic model of the Air Jordan. Love them. Love the color placement. Love how high they go. Love the nylon tongue. Thank God I didn't end up selling these.)
Beeswax boots. (They get better with more character aka creases and scratches.)
Boat shoes. (Light, great summer shoe. I like this color, but I wouldn't be too mad with getting a dark brown leather pair one day.)
Wallabees. (For when you want to look a little more formal, but not quite up for wearing boots that day.)
What's left? ... plain-toe oxfords, dark brown leather boots, two-tone oxfords.
Still sifting through these new albums... I've only had time for the Drake.

Nikki took me there yesterday. It was my first time. I loved it. Old Town Alexandria > Georgetown. Parking was a lot easier, better mom and pop shops, no hipster kids walking around, great restaurants, and the waterfront. Nikki mad reservations for us at The Majestic at 8:45. The food was more amazing than our first time back in January.
Nikki's Grilled Pork Chops... so soft and tasty
Fried Green Tomatoes... different from the version we ate the first time, but this was a lot greener and tasted fresher
Funnel cake for dessert... this was sooooo good. Condensed milk and powder, no chocolate or strawberries like Kings Dominion. It was still 10X better. It was only $7.50 so we were expecting a small portion, but this was huge.
It's going to take 114 miles per day to go to school, pick up Aya, drop her off at her school thing, then go home. OD! 1140 miles in 2 weeks. Cot damn.
I used to be all about Jordans. At one point, I had 20 pairs of Jordans. I know, that's not a lot compared to other fanatics out there. Hell, at one point, I had 60 pairs total. I wonder if I'll ever get back into it again. At the rate that they're retro-ing shoes, I'm not even worried about it anymore. I just know that these shoes will just come out over and over again. I thought these days would never come. I thought that by now, I would be up to like 150 pairs... at the rate that I was purchasing shoes. Now, my most expensive shoes are my Jordan 1's, which I got for $100 on Craigslist... which will be sold soon to one of the youth.
What I have left: Converse Sea Star Ox Vans Zapatos Del Barco (which was essentially replaced by the previous shoe) Sperry Top-Siders Nike Air Trainer II SB Air Jordan I Vans Hosoi III Nike Blazer (Olive) Clarks Desert Boot Clarks Wallabee
Sam Rockwell killed this. I love movies like Moon with just one actor throughout the whole movie pretty much. I can't believe he's that rapist/killer whatever from The Green Mile haha... dude has come a long way. I never really saw him in anything else until I saw Iron Man 2. But yeah, this movie's plot is very unexpected.. so good.
Corporate Finance 301 - B Operations Management 493: Project Management- A Operations Management 320: Supply Chain Management - B Management Information Systems 330: Systems Analysis and Design - B+
This semester turned out to be very good for me.
In Finance, I had to get a C or else I would've been kicked out of the School of Management. As you could imagine, I could feel the pressure. I would get this sick feeling and pretty dizzy the past 3 weeks every time I thought about my final for this course. I only need a 45 on the final to pass (9/20 questions)... even then, I was still nervous as hell because there's so much material to know and so much available material to study that it's really difficult to narrow down what's important. Somehow, I studied effectively and got an 80 on the final. I was shooting for a C, but ended up with a B.
In OM 493, I only studied for maybe 3 hours at most. I studied in between the start of this exam and the end of my previous exam the same day which was MIS 330. I hadn't been to this class for about 2-3 weeks because it was all group presentations, finals review, and a BS class that he didn't require us to show up to. Still, I was confident enough in my knowledge of this class to not expend all of my energy into it because I knew I needed all the energy I could muster to study for the FNAN 301 and OM 320 exams the next day. But yeah, I got a 95 on the final, which gave me a 91 for the class. I thought I had no way of getting an A because I lost an easy 4 points from missing 2 quizzes due to favors for family. But, I got a 96 on my midterm, a 95 on the final, and a 90 on the group project... I guess got just enough points off of the 3/5 quizzes that I took to get that 91.
OM 320 was the second toughest course that I took this semester. I knew I bombed the final. I barely even studied for it. I gave it about 30 minutes. I pretty much said screw it the morning of the exam when I looked at the formula sheet... it had so much crap and it didn't say which formula was for which operation. It was nuts. I didn't even look at the powerpoints to see basic definitions and concepts. I just decided to wing it, take the L if I got a bad grade, and commit all of my time remaining to mastering the Finance 301 material. During the exam, I only filled out the true/false and the multiple choice which made up 50% of the exam. The other 50% was short questions and actual problems using the formulas. I was for sure not getting anything higher than a 40 on the final, which would for sure give me nothing higher than a D as my final grade.... come tonight, I look sign onto Blackboard and it says that I got a B. Amazing! I must've gotten every damn question right that I actually answered lol. I needed a 75 to get the required C to pass... but somehow I got a B in the class. Our professor must've given a mean curve... which is only right because she could not teach for shit. Worst professor ever... she didn't believe anything she said and smirked after everything as if to say to the class, "I'm just speaking, I really don't know if this is 100% correct." This isn't just me. After classes, people in the hallways would be like wow, what an idiot.
As for MIS 330. I only needed a 70 or so to get a C. I barely studied for this because this class has that type of material that you can't really study for. You just kind of have to know the concepts. This was my first final this semester, so I really wasn't warmed up at all. I walked into the classroom just kind of half-assed ready. But as I went through the exam, I gained confidence because a lot of the material was coming back to me... even though during class I'm online most of the time... I guess I actually listen to the material and retain it subconsciously haha. I know I killed the essays at the end, and I always do well with multiple choice. I ended up getting an 89 on this exam (expected a 70 prior to testing, expected a 90 at least after the test was over). Still happy with my grade.
I'm very proud of myself for the way that I trudged through the terribly schedule exams... two pairs of back to backs on consecutive days. I hated GMU for that, but I found a way to manage my time and prioritize the material that I felt I really needed to study. Everything worked out. My GPA has risen, I'm still in the School of Management, and primed to graduate in the fall.
Iron Man 2 was a little disappointing, but I still enjoyed the movie. The two fight scenes with Whiplash were short... very short. The movie dragged in the middle with *spoiler* Tony trying to stay alive, trying to figure out what his dad's message was to him, and Whiplash creating his crap at Hammer Industries. However, the fight scene with Iron Man 2 and War Machine going against the various machines was well worth my $8. *spoiler*
Anyway, before we went out to AMC Potomac Mills at 10:45, Samer and I played a game of Madden to pass time after watching The Office. He was the Chargers and I was the Saints. It was a sea-saw battle until Reggie Bush fumbles on a punt return and gives SD a TD. At that point, Samer was up 21-7. I score again before the half to make it 21-14. He scores, I score. Now, it's 28-21. Then, from the ending minute of the 3rd quarter and into the 4 minute mark of the 4th quarter, I'm marching down the field. I'm at the 20 yard line and throw an interception that Samer takes back to about the 20. He eventually scores the TD. Now, I'm down two TD's 35-21 with about 3:30 to play. Then, I score quickly with a 70ish yard TD to Reggie Bush... all 4 of my Bush TD's were short passes until dude jetted down the sidelines. So, it's about 3 minutes to play with me down 1 TD, 35-28. I try the onside kick. Did not work. So, now Samer is at the 40 yard line. He scores again, and now I'm down 42-28 with less than 2 minutes to play. At this point, I tell Samer "Time for a comeback"... of course completely joking because I was sure I couldn't replicate the comeback I did a few weeks back. I get the ball back, and again, with one play, I score with Bush on a big YAC. At this point, there's about 1:20 to play. I try the onside kick again and it actually worked! So, I get the ball at about the 40. I work my way down with short passes and finally scored with about 20 seconds left. Anthony was there and was saying "Are you going for 2?" I said, "Yeah, even if it doesn't work, I'm satisfied with this comeback." Needless to say, I go for 2 with a pass to Reggie Bush... Bush with the diving and rolling catch. Dope! Then, I just played deep cover 4 for the last 4 plays to prevent any plays downfield... however I was afraid Samer would try a screen pass again because he had been killing me with it allllllll game with Sproles. He must've had 200+ yards receiving. However, my man Reggie had at least 300 yards receiving. I wish I saw the stats, but I think Samer was too pissed to look at them lol. Final score was 43-42.
I'm digging this album so far. It's similar to Kid Cudi in that it's not completely hip-hop. It has influences from other genres... I don't even know which genres specifically. It's really diverse. I know it's going to grow on me even more. Next step: buy.
My dream is to help my brothers financially one day. I will make it happen. I will do anything to make it happen. I will do anything to make life for us and our families easier. I love my brothers.
"Rivera's appearance earned the Yankees a unique distinction -- the only team in the history of major league baseball, the NFL, NBA and NHL with three players who played together in 16 consecutive seasons. Posada and Derek Jeter are the others."
My team is called "Happy with 2nd Place." At the start of the season, my team was called "Gilbert's Knees." Then, around mid-January after Gilbert messed up, I changed the name to "Gilbert's Guns." Last week right before the championship started between myself and "The Undefeated," I changed my name to what it currently is now because I thought to myself that I had no chance at all of beating him. From Monday to Saturday, the score was either 7-1 or 6-3 in his favor. Then, yesterday, he only had Toney Douglas playing on the Knicks, while I had 6 players. Even then, I was like, "Man, I'm screwed. I'm down 3 categories, and he has never lost in the scoring, 3-pt, FG%, or FT% categories. My 4 players playing were Odom, Ariza, Love, Bosh, Gallinari, and Barnes. None of them did particularly well except for Chris Bosh who scored 42 points, had 12 rebounds, and 5 steals. Great steals numbers for a big man. But man, I needed every single one of his points as seen in the first picture.
So yeah, I forgot what my opponent's original name was, but before the playoffs began, he changed his name to what it is now since he didn't lose a single head-to-head match up during the regular season. It's so crazy I beat him. I'm still baffled, especially when I won the points category by a single point.
In this picture, you can see his regular season performance. Dude was unstoppable.
Here's my regular season performance. I was 16-4.
Last night, at like 3 AM, it was MY name slashed out and said that he won 6-3 (starting score as of Sunday morning). I guess Yahoo hadn't tallied up the totals yet. I was blown because I thought I had won 5-4. I just said, "Oh well, I was happy with 2nd place."
Here's my team. Barnes, I just picked up last week. And Ariza, I've only had him for like 2-3 weeks. Outside of those two, that was the core of my team throughout the year. During the season though, I picked up and dropped random players like DeJuan Blair, Nate Robinson, Erick Dampier, Marcus Thornton, and JaVale Mcgee.
This is my opponent's team. Stacked with big names... Wade, Evans, Iggy, JJ, J-Rich. I guess he was lacking big time with the big men even though LaMarcus and Mehmet are no slouches.
I will have to give my MVP to Chris Bosh with Melo in 2nd. Melo scored a lot, but missed some games and didn't really do much else. Bosh was always putting up big rebounding and scoring numbers though.
Congrats, Skins friends! To welcome him to the area, here are some .gifs. I'm looking for the .gif when he grabs his head in disbelief over and over and over.
They lost, but it was still a fun time. Curtis Granderson opened his Yankee career with a home run on his 1st at bat. The fielding was shotty (Robinson Cano, Brett, and Swish). I hope we bounce back tomorrow and take the series.
