R.I.P. MJ and NBA Draft...

I still can't believe Michael Jackson died yesterday. I just got to Nikki's house at around 6PM. Then, I hopped onto the computer and went on my Gmail. Next thing, I went to the General forum on Niketalk... and bam. There was this big ass post about TMZ confirming that MJ was dead. I couldn't believe it. All that was said on places like CNN and Fox was that he was in a coma. I thought TMZ was just buggin', but wow, dude really died. His music will always be appreciated. Yeah he got wierd or misunderstood towards the latter half of his life, but he was still a musical genius. Sad day. I got surprisingly emotional when I saw the confirmation on TV. Sucks man.

So yeah, about 5 minutes after I saw the confirmation, the NBA Draft started.

What a crazy day. The Wizards traded their pick away for cash. I thought that was retarded. I was hoping dude from UCF would come in and score and attack the basket. Oh well. Some big trades landed, too. This is why I love the NBA Draft. There's so much going on. As for the NFL Draft, it's pretty boring. The talks going into the NFL Draft is pretty fun, but the actual draft blows.

But umm, VC to the Magic. Shaq to Cleveland. Amare to Golden State for Stephen Curry. I think Orlando got the best deal since Hedo was on his way out anyway. I was so damn mad GS took Stephen Curry. You could see the look of disappointment on his face, too. He should be a Knick! Damn it.

Injury...

Damn it. I hurt the back of my left foot. It's not quite the heel, but right above it. It's where my shin is, but on the back side. So yeah, I'm gonna take off a day or two from running and just work out instead.

While I'm here:

6-21: 2 miles, 26:30 minutes, 8 laps, 112 fat cals, 361 cals
1.04 miles, 20 minutes, 4.1 laps, 50.5 fat cals, 161 cals (speed walking)
6-22: 1.28 miles, 20 minutes, 5.1 laps, 70.7 fat cals, 226 cals (speed walking combined with a little sprinting)

Oh yeah, I'm done with nectarines. Gala apples are crack! ... along with avocado added to my turkey sandwich. Yum.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Update...

Running outdoors got better for me. I ran at night on 6-18, and it was just as bad as when I ran outdoors on the 17th and the 19th. It actually felt better when I ran during the afternoon because I got my serious sweat on. During night time, I didn't start sweating seriously until after I was done and sitting on a chair at home.

6-17: 2.03 miles, 30 minutes, 8.1 laps, 110 fat cals, 354 cals
2.6 miles from running outdoors to the pond/basketball court.
6-18: 2 miles from running around the neighborhood.
6-19: 2 miles around Nikki's neighborhood.
6-20: 2.06 miles, 30 minutes, 8.2 laps, 111 fat cals, 357 cals

But yeah, I've been eating really well for 2 weeks now. I added vegetables and fruits into the equation along with the turkey sandwiches. I started at about 189. Terrible! But yeah, today I weighed myself and I was at 179.4. I am such a fatty still, but I can finally fit these young shirts and jeans. I have under 2 weeks until RJ's wedding and 1 1/2 months until Las Vegas/San Diego. 15 more pounds to go until I'm at my "ideal" weight according to some web sites. But I think I'd be good at 165. That was my weight during my senior year, which was the last time I felt skinny haha.

Wish List...

Clean Up!

^Self-explanatory.

Anyway, I ran outside today to take my frustrations out. Well, it was pretty bad. The treadmill and outdoors are two totally different things. It's crazy. I was winded 5 minutes into my run primarily because just getting out of my neighborhood, you gotta go up hill. Anyway, I ran out towards the pond/basketball court which... after I drove out there and looked at my odometer to find out how far it was... was about 1.3 miles away. So, back and forth was about 2.6 miles. It wasn't too bad for 30 minutes of jogging and walking. I walked one minute every two minutes I ran pretty much. It blew, but I hope I can do it again to get my stamina up. I had my G-shock on me to keep track of time, so yeah. Another day, another pound... hopefully.

Pretty Please, Pretty Please, Pretty Please...

I hope my brother sticks to his word and gets me these. Well it would be from both brothers since they said they "owe" me for Christmas and my birthday. As far as I'm concerned, they don't owe me a thing. I'm not one to ask for presents or keep tabs on anything. But this would be really cool haha.

Operation Be Skinny Enough to Fit in a Nice Suit For RJ's Wedding Or Skinny Enough to Go to the Beach in Cali...

I've been eating this for the past week... although last week, it was oven roasted turkey from Oscar Meyer or something like that. It was packaged, but had tons of protein and said there were no additives or anything artificial. Anyway, Nikki convinced me to get turkey from the deli at Bloom this time around. I went to the rear of Bloom, and the guy back there was like no we don't slice our own turkey. What an idiot... they had a deli right in the front of the store. But yeah, I just bought all this today minus the dijon mustard which should last me for a while. It's just good for taste and has 0 of everything besides 65mg of sodium. Those are nectarines in the bag. Nikki claimed they're very tasty as long as I got some soft and juicy ones... which I did. But, after I ate one, it wasn't sweet and the texture was weird. Oh well, I'll give it another try tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get lucky an eat a really sweet one.

Alongside eating healthy, I've also been running and doing soooooome lifting, but mostly push-ups.

6-07: 2.02 miles, 30 minutes, 8 laps, 110 fat cals, 353 cals
6-11: 2.08 miles, 31 minutes, 8.3 laps, 112 fat cals, 358 cals
6-14: 2.41 miles, 33 minutes, 9.6 laps, 129 fat cals, 413 cals
6-15: 1.52 miles, 23 minutes, 6.1 laps, 84 fat cals, 269 cals
6-16: 2.03 miles, 30 minutes, 8.1 laps, 110 fat cals, 354 cals

FINALLY!!

These were my favorite shoes as a kid. This past year, Nike only released the black/blue and white/black colorway. I bought both of them because I love the model so much, but in the back of my mind, I knew I would always want the Atlantic Blue colorway. Well, it's a year later, and Nike finally got it right and released this colorway. I'm hoping for a Holiday '09 release... or even sooner. Please!

MGMT....

This is my favorite music of the moment. It's all I listen to in my car. Up next are Kaiser Chiefs. Check out MGMT's album: Oracular Spectacular. I downloaded it like a year and a half ago, then finally gave it some spins. I was a fool for not playing it heavily back then. Tokyo Police Club is great, too.

Uhhhhh...

Best gif. I've seen in a while. I don't even watch soccer, but this had me rollin' just from knowing Ronaldo's status in the soccer world.

Thank You All For a Great Birthday....

I had myself a great birthday. 22 is an ugly ass number, but it was a great birthday weekend. It all started out on Friday. My test was scheduled for Saturday morning, but I was blessed enough that my professor allowed me to take it Friday morning because I told him about having to be in Jersey. After taking the test in the morning, I went to the shrine with Nikki for confession. After that, we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings near the IKEA. It's newly built. We got 6 pieces each of the Mango Habanero and Honey BBQ. The wings were pretty small, but it was still satisfying. Later that night, the kids came to Nikki's house to finalize the Pre-Con dance. Everyone left by around 11PM probably. Then, I helped Nikki paint the shirts/costumes and just any finishing touches. Joe came at around 2AM. I only got like an hour of sleep probably, but it was enough for me to be good to go to drive to Jersey.

Nikki, Joe, and I got to Jersey at 7:30 AM. We made it their in 3 hours. The bus left an hour before us, but we made it there before them haha. Slow bammas! Just kidding, I heard they got lost. It was hot as hell all day. I got sunburnt along with everyone else. I won't go in the details of what went on at Pre-Con, but I had fun just lounging and shooting hoops every couple of hours. Anyway, after Pre-Con was over, the older heads went out to eat at Applebee's to celebrate my birthday. It was Gino, Vince, Cheryl/Jeryl, Joe, Nikki, Kiesha, and myself. Joe, good looks on paying for my food. Everyone realized how I hate being sang to, so Vince got the waiters and waitresses to sing to me. Terrible! Finally, we were out of there by 10:30 or so. We got back to Nikki's house at around 1:30 AM. I was tired as hell after all that driving.

Finally, around 1PM on Sunday, I went home. Then by 5PM, people showed up at my house for my little birthday get together. Nikki and I cooked everyone carnitas tacos and steak tacos. After all that, we watched UP at Potomac Mills AMC. Great movie. Has Pixar ever made a bad movie? Samer, thanks for paying for my ticket. Anyway, thank you everyone for being a part of my birthday. I had a really great time. Now, back to school : (
